You received this email from a friend who is inviting you to lend a hand at the Carlisle Green Festival from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on September 13th, 2008.  The Green Fest is sponsored by Engage Community Church.  This event will bring together passionate individuals, businesses, and non-profits who are working to make a positive environmental impact.  The festival will showcase the product or services offered by the particpating business or individual.  The festival will feature live music, delicious food, and engaging activities for the whole family.

         Highlights of the Festival will include:

  • Green Kids Zone- Hands on fun environmental activities and crafts for kids.
  • LeTort Stream Hike.
  • Engaging optional sessions on relevant topics related to environmental sustainability, energy savings, bio-diesel.
  • Lowes Home Improvement Store will feature a booth on how to save long term energy costs by going “Green” at home.
  • Toyota will feature a Prius Hybrid on display.
  • A solar powered motorcycle will be on display.

Carlisle Green Festival is the first of its kind in Carlisle. The fest will open avenues for greater awareness of the environmental resources available in Carlisle and the surrounding communities. This festival will encourage people from diverse backgrounds to connect around this very important topic.  Come

We are advertising on radio (75,000 listeners) newspaper, Central Penn Parent Magazine, Facebook, Myspace, and others.  We hope to have around 400 people in attendance. But we need your help to pull this off.  Please consider responding to your friend’s invitation to volunteer in one of the following areas.

  • Set Up
  • Parking Attendant
  • Serving Food
  • Clean up during the event (It’s is a green festival after all :) We want to keep it green).
  • Vendor and Volunteer Hospitality during the event.
  • Directing people to the event.
  • Clean up after the event.
