Keeping Our Eyes Fixed
So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ- that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective.  Colossians 3:1-2 (Message Remix)
23 Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, and not from God’s.” Â Matthew 16:23 (NLT)
Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can not be hidden.” Â Matthew 5:14 (NIV)
”’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind… Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”  Matthew 22:37-40 (NIV)
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20 (NIV)
NLC VISION
- We envision sharing the good news of Christ’s death and resurrection with thousands of un-churched friends, neighbors, and co-workers in the greater Carlisle area, many of whom will give Him leadership of their lives.
- We envision reaching people from all walks of life who will find help, healing and hope.
- We envision developing people to spiritual maturity through seeker friendly worship services, small groups, life development classes, and mentoring relationships.
- We envision equipping every believer for significant ministry by helping each member discover his/ her God given SHAPE, and then training him/ her to use their SHAPE in ministry.
- We envision training and sending people out in missions.
- We envision being a church that plants other churches.
FOUR FUNDAMENTALS OF KEEPING YOUR EYES FIXED
- FAITH.
- TRUST.
- GENEROSITY.
- SERVANTHOOD.
“Give yourselves completely to God… so you can be tools in the hands of God, to be used for his good purposes.” Romans 6:13 (LB)
- I will passionately pursue God’s dream for NLC by stepping out in faith in new areas of spiritual growth this year.
- I will trust the leading of the Holy Spirit and those who He has called to lead NLC by seeking Him in prayer and praying for my leaders.
- I want to develop generosity in my life and sacrificially give of my time, talents and treasures.
- I will seek to be a leader that leads from a kneeling position just like Jesus- My Leader.
